Examine the genre of portraiture as an introduction to multiple and varied ways to approach the portrait. Course descriptionLearn how to achieve accuracy with regards to proportion, as well as a degree of "likeness," through a series of guided exercises which cover gesture, shadow-shapes, highlight-shapes, angular measurement, and skull studies. Learn the art history of portraiture and the methods artists use to capture the subject’s essence. Engage in traditional Classical methods, in addition to the use of unusual mediums such as printmaking, clay, and other materials. / Materials fee of $115 included in course tuition.Open to students ages 18 and above.
