Create illustrations to accompany beloved children's books and find new ways of bringing stories to life through drawing, painting, and collage. Open to ages 6 to 9. Course descriptionLearn about illustration styles used by authors and illustrators of iconic children's literature. Create both 2D and 3D forms using paint, watercolor, paper, collage materials, oil pastels, and more - and discover new ways of bringing stories to life. Take a field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art and explore an exciting array of picture books at the MCAD library to find dynamic and unique illustrations for new and fun ideas. The course concludes with a showcase of picture book inspired artwork for friends and family to admire.Open to students ages 6 to 9. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2026.
