Natural Wonders: Nature Inspired Art for Ages 6-9 (In Person)

Explore nature and create nature-inspired artworks that combine the outdoor world with fun and creative projects. Open to ages 6 to 9.

Course description

Go on outdoor adventures around MCAD's green and lush campus, and translate the colors, textures, and forms from the natural environment into various art projects. Create personalized terrariums, nature journals, collage art, and watercolor paintings. A field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art provides inspiration through viewing works like the Chinese masterpiece, Jade Mountain, a variety of impressionist paintings, and textile art. The course concludes with an outdoorsy showcase of artwork for friends and family to admire.

Open to students ages 6 to 9. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2026. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camp Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration.

Information about weekly extended care options for ages 6-12 through Children's Theatre Company are included in the Summer Youth Camp Policies page.
