Course DescriptionDesigned for artists of all levels, this course blends the precision of drawing with the expressive potential of watercolor painting. Explore key watercolor pencil techniques including line work, shading, color layering, water activation, and wet and dry applications. Whether one's interests lie in observational rendering or abstract expression, gain a solid foundation in using this versatile medium—enriching an existing art practice with new possibilities. Students will meet online using Zoom for lecture, demonstrations, discussions, exercises, critiques, and share resources. The instructor will have virtual office hours for 30 minutes after each class session to answer questions and provide individualized feedback and guidance. Good lighting is recommended for working, class meetings and photographing work.PrerequisitesPrevious drawing or painting experience helpful, but not required.Required materialsSupplies for first classdrawing board (minimum 15"x16") or a table top where you can let work dry while taped down.
