Learn the basics of stop-motion animation, covering frame by frame techniques and basic concepts of this traditional and very hands-on style of animation. Open to ages 12 to 15. Course descriptionThis class provides an eye opening experience into a classic technique. Learn the fundamentals of stop-motion animation, including frame rate and basic principles, while examining behind-the-scenes videos of professional stop-motion work. Create animations using a variety of materials, such as paper, modeling clay, and armature wire, to tell a story. Plan and produce small-group animation projects, from creating character designs to filming, editing, and adding sound. Family and friends are invited to enjoy the final animations at a Friday afternoon screening. / Material fee of $10 included in course tuition. Open to students ages 12 to 15.
