Learn to render the details and colors of plant life through drawing and watercolor. Open to ages 12 to 15. Course descriptionUsing botanicals as subject matter, learn techniques to capture different specimens from real life and photos. Explore the outdoors on MCAD’s campus (weather permitting) to observe plants firsthand and practice plein air watercolor painting. Strengthen drawing skills by focusing on contour lines, proportion, value, and overlapping, to create strong, dynamic compositions. With watercolor, apply washes, build layers, create resists, and experiment with ways to make marks that mimic nature with brushes and other materials. / Materials fee of $5 is included in course tuition.Open to students ages 12 to 15.
