Drawing Extravaganza! (in person) | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Drawing Extravaganza! (in person)

Explore a variety of drawing materials and drawing styles - from marker doodles to watercolor landscape sketches - in this class that celebrates all kinds of mark-making. Ages 6–9

Learn the techniques and foundations of drawing, beginning with the fundamental art elements: line, value, shape, and space. Explore doodles, sketches, graffiti, and abstract, figure, and landscape drawings, while experimenting with oil pastels, watercolors, markers, and graphite. Artwork by doodle artist Sam Cox will be highlighted for inspiration. Students take a mini field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art for additional drawing practice. The course concludes with a showcase of artwork for friends and family to admire.

Open to students ages 6–9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camps Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration.
