Cut Loose Collages for Ages 6-9 (In Person)

Clip, snip, mix and match! Learn, play, and imagine through fun and fanciful collage techniques. Open to ages 6 to 9.

Course description

Gain inspiration from the contemporary collages of Eric Carle and street artist Swoon, as well as historical works by Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, Hannah Hoch and Romare Bearden. Explore concepts like overlapping, illusion, scale, and humor while creating various 2D and 3D collages. Get into it with painted papers and various textured objects like yarn, fabric, corrugated cardboard, and lace. See even more examples of art works featuring collage and assemblage during a mini-field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The week will culminate in an art show featuring a hodge-podge of cut and glued masterpieces!

Open to students ages 6 to 9. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2026. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camp Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration.

Information about weekly extended care options for ages 6-12 through Children's Theatre Company are included in the Summer Youth Camp Policies page.
