The Colorful World of Raptors! (Color Exploration) U of MN Raptor Center Partnership (in person)

Studio Kids is very excited to be partnering with the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center this week! Each day of the week an Interpretive Naturalist from the Raptor Center introduces students to one or two raptors to observe, learn about, and draw. Ages 6–9

During the visits from the magnificent guest birds, students focus on studying and drawing the birds, while creating art in response to their shape, texture, and colors. Students dive into the science of color mixing, exploring concepts such as primary and secondary colors, complimentary colors, warm and cool colors, expressive colors, and tints and shades, while drawing and painting a variety of bird themed artworks. Time permitting, take a mini field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. On Friday, all of our colorful creations will come together in a display for friends and family to enjoy in a mini-exhibition. / Facility fee of $55 is included in course tuition.

Open to students ages 6-9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camps Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration. Information about extended care options through Children's Theatre Company are included in the Summer Youth Camps Policies page.
