Art Remix: Collage and Mixed Media for Ages 12-15 (In Person)

Experiment with how to make a picture say more than a thousand words through the medium of collage. Open 12 to 15.

Course description

Learn why artists started creating with this relatively new art medium and explore different kinds of collage techniques, such as photocollage and decoupage. Gain inspiration from artists such as Georges Braque, Joseph Cornell, Hannah Hoch, Romare Bearden, and more. Print and paint on paper to create interesting shapes and patterns. Play with found materials like magazines and newspapers - selecting and cutting out humorous, intriguing, or meaningful images and texts to remix into entirely new artworks. Learn how to experiment with composition, color, and shape to craft expressive, colorful, cut-and-paste creations. / Materials fee of $10 is included in course tuition.

Open to students ages 12 to 15. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2026. Please review our complete Teen Policies as well as our General Policies prior to completing your registration.
