During this time she also earned an MA in Art Education from the University of Nebraska - Kearney.Becky’s artistic work focuses on sharing her experiences living overseas, influenced by her practice of blogging as both an expat and a tourist. This grew out of her interest in using Japanese visual culture to explore her life in Japan and has expanded in the years since to focus on her experiences with other cultures, beginning with Mongolia, where she spent the pandemic and beyond. She combines collage, painting, and printmaking to create works that represent her worldview, an amalgamation of the many facets of life as an expat.Becky’s teaching philosophy is centered on the truth that all of us have potential to be artists and creators. By teaching not only technical but also observational skills, she empowers students with the tools they need to explore their own artistic visions and express the ideas that they are passionate about.
