Student Scholarships Scholarships are critically important to the success of MCAD students. 97% of MCAD students receive some sort of financial aid; it is the difference between a realized ambition and a deferred dream. There are two different ways to provide scholarships: endowed scholarships or annual scholarships. “The scholarship I received allowed me to focus on my studies. Scholarship donors are truly guardian angels. Thank you for investing in us and investing in arts education.” Elizabeth King Aviles ’15 Annual ScholarshipsAnnual scholarship funds provide students with timely financial support during the academic year. Contributions of any size are applied to students’ financial aid packages as soon as possible, helping meet their educational expenses when needed. Unlike endowed scholarships, annual funds are fully expended each year and do not generate investment income.Named renewable scholarship funds can be established by committing at least $2,000 per year for a minimum of four years. These recurring gifts provide reliable, ongoing support for students and help make education more accessible.Endowed Scholarship FundsEndowed scholarship funds create a lasting legacy of support for students. Established with a gift of $25,000 or more, these permanent funds continue to grow over time, with a portion of the income generated awarded annually to support student scholarships.Endowed scholarships are often created in honor or memory of a family member, mentor, or friend of the college. They can be funded through a single gift, contributions made over several years, or a bequest, providing a meaningful and lasting way to invest in students’ futures. To establish an endowed scholarship to MCAD, contact Kristen Cooper, Director of Development, at development@mcad.edu or 612.963.9427. Giving a gift of publicly traded stock that has increased in value and that you have owned for more than one year may provide greater tax benefits than giving cash. Your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock.TC SecuritiesDTC #0075 LPL FinancialFBO Minneapolis College of Art and Design 2984-2048TAX ID 41-1607453
