Art Educator Symposium: Watercolor Lab (Agates) (In Person)

Join us for an immersive art educators symposium on Thursday, June 18, from 12:00–5:30 p.m. Enjoy admissions presentations, campus tours, and lunch. Register for a dynamic hands-on workshop in one of MCAD's distinctive artmaking spaces from 1:00-4:00 p.m., and conclude with a happy hour event at MCAD’s onsite events space, The Buzz.

Course description

Discover the significance of Minnesota agates through watercolor painting. Discuss the formation and collection of agates. Learn traditional and non-traditional approaches to watercolor painting, while exploring line, color and texture. Learn traditional techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, and dry brush through demonstration.

The workshop's project blends fine art and natural history, giving educators creative skills and tools to bring back to the classroom

Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies before completing your registration. This course cancellation policy is 100% refund until June 1; no refund after June 1.
