Journey through history and discover art forms from across the world and across time. Open to ages 6 to 9. Course descriptionDraw inspiration from both ancient and contemporary art traditions and cultures around the world. Investigate the work of artists such as Yayoi Kusama, Frida Kahlo, Jennie Kappenman, and more. Create projects inspired by Amate bark paintings and Kehinde Wiley self portraits, and play with patterns, symmetry, and color to create unique works of art. Take a field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art during the week to view art across different cultures for inspiration. The course concludes with a worldly showcase of artwork for friends and family to admire.Open to students ages 6 to 9. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2026.
