Course descriptionApply high-level design principles across a series of related projects that work together as one cohesive campaign. Portfolio direction is personalized through project category choices, which include brand identity, logo design, typography, layout, digital specifications, social media content, web design, and presentation materials. This structure enables the building of a campaign that aligns with strengths and career goals.Throughout the course, work from a professional brief to develop a multifaceted project, tackle complex design challenges, and produce components that function across multiple media and formats. In addition to the campaign deliverables, create process documentation that showcases research, strategy, iterations, and outcomes. Resulting in a polished case study suitable for inclusion in professional portfolios.Learn to articulate design vision, present work publicly, and assemble a final portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking and technical execution from concept to completion. The course also introduces the graphic design profession and highlights potential roles, pathways, and expectations across the industry. / This course can be taken towards the Graphic Design Certificate.Open to students ages 18 and above. Instead, the course is project-based, with 2 to 3 deadlines per week, and students can choose a time and place that works best for them to complete the work. Course activities may include readings, video demonstrations and tutorials, online discussions, projects, and critiques. The instructor will have weekly virtual office hours via Zoom to answer questions and provide individualized feedback and guidance.
