2024-25 Annual Report | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

2024-25 Annual Report

Dear Friends of MCAD:

I am honored to present MCAD’s 2024–2025 Annual Report. As I reflect on my first year as president of this incredible institution, I am continually inspired by MCAD’s far-reaching impact.

Our alumni, now leaders in the arts and design fields, are not just participants in the global creative economy; they are at the forefront of it. Our graduates thrive at world-class companies, while also driving innovation in countless smaller, dynamic businesses. Wherever they go, MCAD alumni are recognized as catalysts for creativity, progress, and positive change.

As the region’s leading art and design college, we understand our responsibility to serve as a vital talent pipeline for the creative sector and beyond. Amid all the challenges and opportunities around us today, we remain focused on equipping our students with the skills, knowledge, and passion to excel in meaningful careers, whatever their path may be.

Your support makes all of this possible. Thanks to your generosity, our programs continue to evolve to meet the needs of a fast-changing world. This year alone, we’ve awarded millions of dollars in scholarships, helping make an MCAD education accessible to talented students from all backgrounds who are driven to succeed.

I encourage you to take a moment to explore our Annual Report. On behalf of everyone at MCAD, I extend my deepest gratitude for your continued support of our college and our students. We couldn’t do this without you.

With appreciation,

GWENDOLYN FREED, Ph.D.
PRESIDENT

β€œThis scholarship not only alleviates financial pressure, but also inspires me to push forward with my academic and creative goals. I am committed to making the most of my education and to using my skills to create meaningful, impactful work in my field.”

β€œAs an independent student, I’ve faced a number of financial challenges throughout my college journey. Balancing full-time work while also being a full-time student has been one of the most demanding commitments. Despite these challenges, I’ve remained dedicated to my academic and artistic goals without compromising the quality of my work or grades. Thank you again for this generous support. It’s not only a financial relief, but also a reminder that my efforts and story matter.”
