June 10, 2026 Image The Minneapolis College of Art and Design is pleased to announce the welcoming of five new candidates to serve on the Board of Trustees; Kerry Fauver and Kate Sherburne. Kerry FauverManaging Director at AllianceBernstein, where she leads capital formation in North America for Private Alternatives, including private credit, asset-based finance, and real estate debt strategies. She brings nearly two decades of experience in global fundraising and investor relations, including her prior role leading these efforts at AB CarVal following its acquisition by AllianceBernstein. Earlier in her career, she held marketing and business development roles at HarbourVest Partners and DSFX, and began her professional path in public relations.Ms. Fauver offers deep expertise in capital markets, investor engagement, and strategic positioning—experience that would be highly valuable in advancing MCAD’s long-term financial sustainability and fundraising strategy. She is an active member of the Painting & Drawing Council at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, reflecting a strong personal commitment to the arts. She holds a B.A. with honors in American Studies from Hamilton College. Kate SherburneA corporate attorney who advises clients on complex, high-stakes transactions, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and securities law. She has deep expertise in representation and warranty insurance, an increasingly important tool in M&A transactions. In addition to her client work, Ms. Sherburne serves in firm leadership as Deputy Co-leader of the Corporate Group and contributes to national legal standards through her involvement with the American Bar Association’s Private Company Model Merger Agreement Task Force. She has been widely recognized for her excellence in the field, including honors from Chambers USA, Best Lawyers, and Twin Cities Business.Ms. Sherburne earned her J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Minnesota Law School, and holds a B.A. in History from the University of Minnesota. She brings a strong background in governance, risk management, and complex transactions—expertise that would support MCAD’s fiduciary oversight and strategic initiatives.
