Eighty-Six Reasons For Asylum Admission, a show by Kimbery Chapman included a collaboration with the UB Art Department’s Photo Area and Instructional Support Tech Cassandra Cook ’19. This exhibition features photographed objects given to them by community members in remembrance of the women institutionalized at the Buffalo State Asylum between 1880 and 1974.

The University at Buffalo’s Buffalo Remembrance Project works with the community and documents items from family members impacted by institutionalization at the Buffalo State Asylum. Cook worked with a small group of photo students to document the items in addition to providing feedback to the students during the project's editing phase. The installation will be on view at the Richardson Olmstead Complex for the next year.
