"Living Colors" Gallery Opening

Lara Cornell ’24, MA recently hosted a unique gallery opening that combined sustainability, art, and culinary experience in a celebration of creativity and environmental awareness. The event featured over 540 colors Cornell created using pigments derived from food waste—a central theme of the show.

In collaboration with local plant-based catering company Savor, appetizers and beverages were crafted to complement and reflect the artwork, offering guests an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Attendees were also invited to experiment with the custom food-waste paints, adding an interactive element to the exhibit.

Cornell also partnered with Chowgirls Catering to create an impactful art installation on a dinner table, using serving platters and acrylic art materials to explore the environmental narrative surrounding microplastics and commercial materials.
