Miriam Weisfeld is the Director of Artistic Development at the Children’s Theatre Company, where she oversees the development of all new plays and musicals. Previously she was Senior Vice President for Broadway production company the Araca Group in New York City, where she supported the development of new work including the Outsiders (upcoming at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre), the SpongeBob SquarePants Musical (Broadway), and Ayad Akhtar’s play Junk (Lincoln Center). She has also served as Associate Artistic Director of Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington, DC and as a freelance dramaturg at New York Theatre Workshop, American Repertory Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, and Actors Theatre of Louisville. She has lectured at Harvard University, MIT, the Kennedy Center, and elsewhere. She holds an MFA from the American Repertory Theatre/Moscow Art Theatre School Institute at Harvard and is a contributing author to the Routledge Companion to Dramaturgy.
