Image Faculty Alumni ’03 Title Adjunct Faculty Education BFA Carrie Hartman works as an illustrator, author, designer, and lecturer. Her illustration work includes book illustration, editorial work, character designs for a nationally animated commercial, maps, greeting cards, advertising, work with animation studios, comic books, surface design, identity and branding and murals. She has illustrated over 20 picture books. She has authored 1 book and is currently writing several of her own picture books. Her illustrations have appeared in New York Magazine, American Baby, Midwest Living, Seattle Monthly, Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine, the Hartford Courant, St. Louis Magazine, the Star Tribune and the Baltimore Sun. Some of her clients include HGTV, American Greetings, Office Depot, Target, ING, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, MN Historical Society Press, Nature Made Vitamins, Sterling Publishing, Avenue Books, Encyclopedia Britannica, Northeastern University, Lerner Publishing, the Minnesota State Fair and more. Her work has received multiple industry awards including being honored by the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators, the top illustration award of excellence from the Association of Educational Publishers, and a nomination from the Educational Press Association.
