Alissa McCourt is a choice based arts educator and artist currently working in elementary art education. McCourt is interested in empowering young artists to find their own voice and artistic passion through risk taking, experimentation, and reflection. McCourt strives to create a supportive, student centered classroom environment that balances structure with creative freedom. McCourt’s current artistic practice is focused on soft sculpture, mythology, and merging the weird with the whimsical.
