Describe what you do for work and how your experience with it has been.

I have been working on my freelance illustration career for the last 6 years and I love doing galleries around LA and getting great clients.

How did you get your job?

Working on connecting with other artists and vendors

How long ago did you graduate from MCAD?

10+ years

Where are you originally from and how did you hear about MCAD?

I currently live in LA, I used to live in Portland Oregon, and I heard about MCAD from them visiting my school.

What was your major and how did you choose it?

BFA in Graphic Design, I was always good with computers and wanted to have a career that involved creativity and problem solving.

Who was your favorite faculty member and why?

Jan Jancourt, he was always so knowledgeable and kind with his critiques.

Best thing you ever found on the free shelf?

Probably any free food.

Did MCAD prepare you for life after graduation? In what way?

Yes, I believe that MCAD taught me work ethic and great techniques that I bring into my work currently.

Your biggest takeaway from MCAD?

Being amongst a creative community and learning from the best.

What inspires you/your work?

Lots of anime/manga growing up, other artists like James Jean and Audrey Kawasaki.

How do you network yourself and your art?

I go to art shows, I try and just talk to people in life. You'd be surprised at who you meet!

What was your experience living in the Twin Cities? Any hidden treasures?

It was very cold...I guess the Bad Waitress, but I think its closed now.
