Art + Technology: Potential Careers

MCAD Career Development can help you find work and help employers find you. In addition to job listings, the staff is available to meet one-on-one with students and alumni to assist with career development. Services include assistance writing and editing resumes, cover letters, and other professional correspondences; career exploration and industry research; interviewing practice; networking strategies; and industry-specific practices.

Multimedia Artist

Utilizes a variety of new and traditional materials and technologies to create dynamic, interactive audience experiences. Moves between the internet, screens, and physical spaces.

Broadcast Designer

Creates 2D and 3D computer images and motion graphics for news broadcasts, weather alerts, television shows, station identification promotions, and sporting event scoreboards and highlights.

Game Developer

Conceives of and executes games for digital platforms, including gaming sequences, scripts, sound effects, and environments.

Motion Graphics Designer

Creates 2D and 3D computer images and moving images and/or type (motion graphics) for commercials, television shows, movie trailers, and films.

Multimedia Designer

Uses a mixture of text, graphics, animations, and sound to produce products such as interactive websites and experiences. Is a problem solver, effective communicator, and flexible project member who has the ability to self-motivate.

3D Modeler

Creates 3D spaces and environments within a digital realm for computer games, medical use and inventions, and new product environments.

Front-End Developer

Requires technical background in programming in several computer languages, concentrating on creating interactivity between visual elements rather than visual creation.

Web Designer

Works with clients and creative teams to create the look and feel of multiple pages on a website. Uses several programs to create designs and animation.
