User Experience (UX) Design Systems and Prototyping (online)

Follow a project brief through all phases, from concept to design system, and gain a comprehensive understanding of what aspects of design need thorough consideration throughout this process.

Course description

Dive deeply into a project brief through the process of research, design, and prototyping. Learn how to ensure that accessibility and equity are integrated into the design process from the beginning. Explore how design systems and reusable components lead to thoughtful digital experiences, and how responsiveness, flexibility, and scalability are fundamental to designing for screens and across platforms.

Follow a project brief to create a design system to establish standards to manage the project, reduce redundancy while creating a shared language and visual consistency. A well-crafted design system can support everyone within an organization while meeting the needs of all our audiences: developers, designers, content strategists, and business stakeholders. Create prototypes and evaluate ideas by capturing user feedback and iterating on designs

Students who are interested in developing their coding skills further are encouraged to take the courses Web Development: HTML and Web Development: CSS. These will be offered in the Fall.
