Learn the basics of Figma, a versatile cloud-based prototyping software that offers the opportunity to explore web, graphic, and UI/UX design in a practical and user-friendly environment. Open to ages 16 and above. Course DescriptionFigma is a collaborative user interface design tool to create interactive mobile app and website prototypes, (i.e. a clickable or interactive design). This introductory course is designed to familiarize students with the basic tools and techniques used to develop a Figma prototype. Create small app prototypes to view and share on multiple devices. Play with interactive animations and collaborate with designers using FigJam. All class activities come together in a mini website/app with interactivity like slide-in menus and modal windows. Open to students ages 16 and above. Students meet online for synchronous class meetings using Google Meet for demonstrations, discussions, exercises, critique and opportunities for students to ask questions and share resources. Asynchronous activities may include readings, video demonstrations and tutorials, online discussions, projects, and critiques. The instructor will have virtual office hours to answer questions and provide individualized feedback and guidance.
