Course descriptionLearn about weft faced handwoven textiles through using inexpensive tools and simple weaving techniques. Prepare and warp the frame loom, discover fundamental weaving and tapestry practices, and experiment with textile finishing techniques. Work alongside an experienced artist and tapestry weaver in a collaborative learning environment. Discuss fiber choices along with the preparation and use of the cartoon for pictorial design, fiber color mixing and the place of tapestry in historical and contemporary art and design. / A $14 materials fee is included in the tuition.Open to students ages 16 and above.
