Course description

Cyanotype, a photographic printing process that results in a cyan-blue print, is the perfect place to start an education in alternative (non-silver) photographic processes.

Learn about the cyanotype process, one of the first photographic processes, originally developed in the 1840s. Use sunlight and water to make brilliant blue and toned prints from objects, drawings, and photographic transparencies. Cyanotype is a useful process for educators because it is inexpensive, uses simple equipment, and is fun to experiment with. Cyanotype projects can explore ideas about positive/negative space, shape and texture, as well as conceptual ideas about abstraction, documentation, and process. / Standard safety protocols regarding any chemicals will be followed.

Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies before completing your registration. This course cancellation policy is 100% refund until June 1; no refund after June 1.
