Animation and Motion Graphics with Adobe Creative Cloud (Online)

Course description

Begin learning the basics of creating graphics and characters for animations, using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. After completing these foundational steps and refining these artistic details, transition into using animation production tools such as Adobe Character Animator, After Effects, and Adobe Animate to bring finished animations and graphics to life.

Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies, including class cancellation policies, before completing your registration.

Class meeting details

This online class is synchronous. Students will meet online on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m-9:30 p.m. CDT using Google Meet for lecture, demonstrations, discussions, exercises, critiques, and share resources for the first 90 minutes. Office hours and independent work time follows each class session for 90 minutes. Office hours are an opportunity for students to ask questions and receive feedback and guidance. The class meetings are recorded for students to use as a review.

None

Required materials

Supplies: pen or pencil, notebook or sketchbook.

Software: Adobe Creative Cloud software (provided by MCAD).

Hardware: A computer capable of running Adobe Creative Cloud software, with internet access, a camera, and a microphone for class meetings and to capture and upload work.

This class uses Adobe Creative Cloud and Canvas, MCAD’s learning management system. Please see the link for more information.
