TEACHING PHILOSOPHY & MENTORSHIP

One reason I’ve always wanted to be an artist is because I love being in community with other artists. Mentoring creates connections and builds community and I believe the role of mentorship is to see, honor, and celebrate the possibility and embodiment of each person’s work and to support their growth and goals. This extends beyond the studio to all aspects of life and the conditions which define creative production. I like to think deeply about work in terms of spatial installation and historical connections. I believe in generosity and love pointing toward new resources, whether articles, essays, references to artists or new materials.
