Pre-College Studio Intensive: Comic Art (in person)

In this week-long intensive, high school students explore the major of comic art.

Learn the necessary skills to develop and create short form comics. The class covers storytelling, character and environment development, penciling, inking, and production. The final goal is a mini-comic anthology of the students’ work. / This class will have an unsupervised 30 minute lunch break. / Students will have access to Adobe Creative Cloud software throughout the class. / Materials fee of $50 included in course tuition.

Open to students ages 15-18. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Teen Policies as well as our General Policies prior to completing your registration.

Prerequisites

Previous drawing experience is helpful, but not required. Experience with Adobe Photoshop is helpful, but not required.

Supplies for first class

  • pen or pencil
  • notebook or sketchbook
  • USB drive or cloud storage option for saving work
  • packed lunch each day, no nuts

The materials fee for this class will cover the required supplies.
