The Fascinating World of Me! (Portraits) (Section 2) (in person) | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

The Fascinating World of Me! (Portraits) (Section 2) (in person)

Explore the world of self portraits with a character twist! Using a unique theme each day, students imagine themselves a pirate aboard Blackbeard's ship, living among the royals, and hopping into the fantastic world of cartoons! Ages 6–9

Create character self portraits using the unique artistic styles learned each day with a wide variety of art mediums such as fabric and yarn collage, chalk, charcoal, paint, and torn paper collage. Then develop character backstories to go along with the creative self portraits. Each day includes exploration of different artists including Kehinde Wiley, Vincent van Gogh, and Tim Burton. At the end of the week, families and friends are invited to view the students’ work in a group exhibition. / The camp only meets in the afternoon.

Open to students ages 6–9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camps Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration.
