Comic Book Creation 1 (in person)

Explore the expansive and diverse world of comic book stories and drawing styles while learning the fundamental aspects of comic book creation and design.

Create original characters and storylines and gain an introduction to the techniques, materials, and disciplines used to create professional comic art. Become familiar with the basic comic art skills, including page layout, penciling, lettering, and inking, to create a comic from start to finish.

Open to students ages 12-15. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Teen Policies as well as our General Policies prior to completing your registration.

Required materials

Supplies for the first class

  • 1 tablet of Bristol Board, 9in x 12in or larger
  • 2-3 pencils (not mechanical) - 2H, 2B, or HB
  • 2-3 non-Photo Blue Pencils
  • Black Markers and/or Pens of the student's choosing
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Eraser
  • Ruler 12in or larger, cork-back preferred

 

Students should anticipate an additional cost of roughly $25-$30 in total for materials (not included in tuition).

What to wear
Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.
