Describe what you do for work and how your experience with it has been.

For about 20 years, I’ve worked as a freelance Motion Graphics Designer and Animator in the film industry. The flexibility in schedule and sheer variety of work allows me to pursue my personal horror art, which is probably what I’m most known for these days.

How did you get your job?

As they say, it’s not who you know, it’s who knows you. My professional career fell into place by volunteering my time on student films and independent feature films in New York City. There are always a broad range of professionals, even on small sets, who go on to work on larger projects and they will work with people they know and trust before burning energy on taking chances with people they have to interview. Having an art school background is also incredibly valuable because with it you bring an elevated confidence when it comes to attacking any creative problem that needs to be solved immediately, which is every moment of every day on a film set.
