A new life-sized bronze sculpture titled Harmony was unveiled at Rockwell Park on Fowler Lake on August 12th, marking a major addition to Oconomowoc’s public art scene and kicking off the city’s annual Festival Week. Created by John Hallett ’24, MFA, the sculpture was commissioned by the Oconomowoc Festival of the Arts and donated to the City of Oconomowoc as part of the city's 150th anniversary celebration.

Harmony captures a heartwarming moment of intergenerational bonding—a child playfully riding on an adult's shoulders, inspired by a real-life scene at the park. The subjects, local residents Mike Herro and his niece Eddy, were photographed enjoying a lakeside afternoon during the early stages of the project. The spontaneous moment that became the final pose happened when Eddy hopped on her uncle’s shoulders, a gesture that artist Hallett described as "unforgettable."

The unveiling kicked off Festival Week, a community-wide celebration featuring free outdoor concerts, art exhibitions, a beer garden, a lighted boat parade, and fireworks—all leading up to the Oconomowoc Festival of the Arts on Saturday and Sunday in nearby Fowler Park.
