Describe the work you submitted for merits.

The work that I submitted for merits had an emphasis in publication design, printmaking, and web-based work. A lot of my work is me working through questions that I have about image aggregation, authority of images, and visual culture.

Why did you decide to come to MCAD?

Minneapolis is a pretty great city ❤️

What are your plans for your senior year? And beyond?

I would love to either be designing type or art publications after school while maintaining a studio practice.

Favorite thing about college life (so far)?

I cannot emphasize how important my professors are to me. I am so lucky to have developed good relationships with them, and they have seriously helped me out in my professional and personal life. They have taught me about the importance of community and supporting one another. I hope that I can pass on and foster that kindness in the present and in the future.

Anything you're obsessed with at the moment?

Emigre, always.

Little & Co. Scholarship $3,300

How are you going to celebrate your win?

I'll probably treat myself by buying a new book and dinner at Phở Hòa with my closest friends!

What kind of work are you excited to make next?

I am interested in exploring classes outside of my major that include printmaking and web and screen, and seeing how I am able to incorporate that within my overall practice.

What made you choose to come to MCAD?

The curriculum and placement of MCAD just felt right to me. MCAD's rigorous classes have really pushed me to make work that I am proud of. The school is also very close to two of my favorite museums, Walker Art Center and Mia, where the exhibits and publications have provided me with endless inspiration.

Favorite thing about college life (so far)?

The readings and discussions that take place in my classes have always been one of my favorite things about MCAD. These have always had a very important impact on not only the conceptual and aesthetic aspects of my work but my overall outlook of life.
