Web Development (Online)

In this course students learn how to create visually appealing, well-organized web pages using the fundamental languages for creating content and style on the web: HTML and CSS.

Course description

The class begins with HTML and is introduced to tags, links, lists, tables, forms, web standards (old, new, and evolving), and the foundation of web page construction. Using CSS, students then apply style sheets to HTML, using fonts, colors, divs, spans, layout, and positioning to create a well-crafted web page.

Students will have access to Adobe Creative Cloud software throughout the course. / This course is part of the Master of Art in Graphic and Web Design and is a graduate level course.

Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies, including class cancellation policies, before completing your registration.

Class meeting details

This online course is asynchronous, meaning that there are no set class meeting times. Instead, the course is project-based, with 2 to 3 deadlines per week, and students can choose a time and place that works best for them to complete the work. Course activities may include readings; video demonstrations and tutorials; online discussions; projects; and critiques.

Adobe Creative Cloud (provided by MCAD).

Hardware
A computer capable of running Adobe Creative Cloud software, with internet access, and a way to upload work.
