A continuation of Portraiture in Painting 1, to further students’ understanding of painting the portrait. Course descriptionExplore various ways to approach the portrait, examine color relationships when mixing palettes, and ultimately how to achieve a convincing likeness. Many class sessions will have a live model present who will pose in more challenging angles, providing students with ample opportunity to hone their approaches and techniques. Through lectures, discussion, instructor-led demonstrations, and peer-to-peer critique sessions, learn to approach painting portraits in an encouraging and relaxed atmosphere to support the growth of more advanced skills. / A materials fee of $53 is included in the course tuition.This course includes an optional gallery tour with the instructor at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Thursday, October 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.Open to students ages 18 and above.
