BIO

I am an artist and practicing art therapist with work in the mediums of paint and fiber. In my creative practice, I explore themes of repair, consumption, and place. I'm taken by houses and buildings, clothes and community: themes that are situated in our most basic needs. Making art allows me to live out my values and offer the inherently therapeutic offerings of art making to others.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY & MENTORSHIP

Mentorship has been a guiding principle to my work and the training I have received. Within a mentorship there is a power-dynamic that I hope to minimize as actively as possible to create a relationship of trust and openness. With this ease in dialogue and minimization of the power imbalance, I hope to offer mentee's a space they can be vulnerable and ask questions safely but also share information with me that showcases their knowledge and strengths.
