The W.E. Chalk Festival, founded by Shawn McCann ’02, celebrated its third year in St. Louis Park on July 25 and 26. The free art festival, sponsored by Canvas Convergence, brought together renowned chalk artists from across the country for a two day immersive public art gallery.

McCann, who also did the ceiling murals for Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store, has been doing public street art and community events for numerous years. As a multimedia artist, his work ranges from street painting, murals, fine art, children’s books, installation art, temporary and permanent art and commercial illustration.
