How/why did you choose your area of study?

I chose my area of study because Illustration is a highly versatile form of art. Illustration offers a vast amount of exploration through different mediums, themes, subjects, and opportunities.

Describe the work you submitted for merits.

The work I submitted for merit was a collection of some of my favorite pieces from MCAD's illustration and print paper book courses. I provided a vast selection of different examples of mediums that I work in, such as acrylic paint, digital, screenprinting, woodblock printing, risograph, and a zine made from scanned traditional mixed media works I have done.

Why did you decide to come to MCAD?

I decided to come to MCAD because of its proximity to my hometown, the opportunities that I will have once I graduate, and most importantly, to grow as an artist and as an individual.

What are your plans for your senior year? And beyond?

My plans for senior year are to focus on my love of painting as well as my love of print. Once I graduate from MCAD, I hope to do a couple of residencies, grow my etsy business, and pursue an MFA.
