Continuing Education Instructor Education BA, University of Minnesota MFA, Minneapolis College of Art and Design Montana Becker is an artist and educator from Princeton, Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Art from the University of Minnesota Morris in 2020, and her MFA from MCAD this spring. Montana would describe her work primarily in terms of painting, but her artistic practice spans a wide range of media including drawing media, fibers, photography, performance and poetry. Montana’s work is thematically centered around a deep investigation of home, environment and place making, which she facilitates through her practice by actively collaborating with nature.In addition to nurturing her artistic practice, Montana has been working as a teacher and coach for the past six years. In that time, she has taught a variety of subjects and worked in both public schools and arts organizations throughout the state of Minnesota. Montana’s passion for art and education meet in the arts classroom where she is able to assist students in developing their technical skills and unique artistic voice. When she is not in the classroom or her studio, Montana enjoys long swims and runs near her home in Princeton.
