What kind of work are you excited to make next?

I am excited to keep working with the 8x10 and working in the darkroom. I also want to keep working on portraits.

What are your hopes/goals for your senior year? And beyond?

I want to make more prints of my work. I always love seeing how the photos look on paper. Making more books would be great as well they are a big part of my practice.

Best thing you ever got on the free shelf?

A 24" apple monitor.

Teaching Artist Practicum Biography

Jack Powers earned his BFA in photography while also minoring as a Teaching Artist. He is the recipient of the 2019 MCAD Merit Scholarship for Photography.

Jack primarily focuses on the use of large format film cameras and alternative photo processes. He is interested in preserving alternative photo processes, by teaching others how to use them. He also is interested in how photography is used in today's society. His goal is to open a new perspective to people.
