Several members of the MCAD community have been selected as artists-in-residence at the Soap Factory this summer.

Their work will be displayed in 3x5, which consists of five one-month-long residencies that take place from May until September. Each month, three different artist coordinators choose emerging artists to create work for the first-floor galleries.

Members of MCAD student club The People's Library (Nancy Hicks, Jonathan Herrera, Candice Davis, and Kendra Ruesken) and Leslie Barlow ’16, MFA, will be showing for the July residency. The People's Library were selected by faculty member Piotr Szyhalski. Preston Drum ’16, MFA, and faculty member Dawn Schot Klotzbach will be participating in the September residency, as selected by faculty member Andy DuCett.

Past residency members include Essma Imady ’16, MFA, faculty member Gudrun Lock, and Andrea Carlson ’05, MFA.

Update 9/6: Lock chatted with fellow artist-in-residence Tom Wixo about her time at the Soap Factory.
