Faculty members Denise DeLuca and Trisha Bauman have joined COUNTDOWN’s TEDxISSP event.

The event is a collaboration between three organizations: COUNTDOWN, a global initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis, turning ideas into action; the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), the leading organization of sustainability professionals, bringing together change-makers who devise and deliver on solutions across sectors and around the world every day; and MCAD’s MA in Sustainable Design, which seeks to educate more professionals in sustainable practices and future design. The event consists of three sessions, where the world’s most prominent climate leaders will cover the urgency of the moment, the transformation needed, and the action that it will take to solve the climate crisis in a series of TED talks. Liza Donnelly, an award-winning illustrator known for her work with The New Yorker, will be cartooning the event.

DeLuca is the director of MCAD’s Sustainable Design program and a co-founder of BCI: Biomimicry Creative for Innovation, as well as a board member of the ISPP. Bauman is a faculty member in the Sustainable Design program and is the CEO and founder of TJBauman, a strategic communications firm in New York specializing in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact.
