Describe the work you submitted for merits.

In my first piece Alone with Myself, I got to play around with how to do a lot of stuff by myself it was actually meant to be a comedy at first but ended up turning it into a horror piece which is great. Adulthood was pretty much the next step forward after that feeling more confident in my work, has to do with the fear of just being an adult and my final submission was just my favorite parts of all my work together, which really helped me feel good about what I've done so far in my school career since I haven't done any of this prior to MCAD.

What's next for your practice? Anything you're really excited to make?

I'm currently working on the preproduction of a project that's called Fish and Duck. It revolves around the title characters Fish and Duck, who are just going through life with no one but each other. My work partner, Elli Glatt, and I are very excited to get started filming on this almost surreal dry humor project. I've had a lot of fun working on it so far and I'm looking forward to everyone seeing what it is!

Why did you decide to come to MCAD?

Besides the fact I already lived in Minnesota, MCAD gives me the opportunities to explore not only film but other areas of interest like animation. Then I can bring what learned back to my film-making career with another tool in my arsenal.

Favorite thing about college life (so far)?

The opportunities, you can either sit in your room do your homework and watch TV or you can try to make friends and connections which is what I'm learning to do. Especially with filmmaking, you can't just do it on your own. You gotta make friends and you gotta check everything from the media center at least once on your own.

What's the best thing you've got from MCAD's free shelf?

I never get any of the good stuff! I kid you not there were two times I missed out on getting a lightsaber from the shelf. I'll go walking up to it and I'll see someone walking away with a lightsaber.

Anything you're obsessed with at the moment?

At the moment? Probably Zack Snyder's Justice League. Four hours long? Yes, please.

What inspires you?

Film has always been a big part of my life. Whether it's the next Marvel blockbuster hitting the big screen or A24 coming up with another fantastic piece of cinema, movies have always excited me. And that's what I'm working on trying to do, I want to be able to make something that means something to at least one other person. Whether it be joy, fear, thrills I want to help provide a feeling for the audience.

Do you have a favorite piece you've made? Describe it!

Probably my piece Adulthood. Mostly due to the fact I like to see the progress I made from last year to this project. And gets me excited to see my progress next. Plus the actor, William Bercaw makes some of the best surprise faces.
