Snap! (Analog and Digital Photography)

From still lifes to selfies, portraits to panoramas, photography requires a trained eye and technical skills. Pick up tips and tricks from an experienced photographer. The photography lab at MCAD will provide immersive opportunities to experiment with tools, techniques, and materials with guidance from an experienced instructor and inspiration from photographers from many different time periods. Whether you’re just getting started or you’re a seasoned shutterbug, be inspired by photo pros whose work is on display and by the many views, vistas, and vantage points on the MCAD campus. Students will experiment with analog and digital photography, make a pinhole camera, explore Polaroid instant photography and dabble in digital prints. For inspiration, the class will take a field trip to view photographs by amazing artists at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. At the end of the week, the students’ images will be displayed for family and friends to appreciate and admire. / Open to students ages 9-12. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete registration policies.
