Put A Bird On It! (Observational Art)

Studio Kids is very excited to be working with the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center this week! Each day a special guest bird from the Raptor Center will be on campus for live-drawing and information sessions, including an opportunity for questions and answers with one of the raptor handlers. During the visits from the magnificent guest birds, students will focus on studying and drawing the birds, while creating art in response to their shape and form. Students will create whimsical patterned birds, silhouetted scenes, and create a three-dimensional sculpture of their own bird to bring home. Time permitting, we will take a mini field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. On Friday, all of the fantastic feathery artworks will come together in a display for friends and family to enjoy! / Open to students ages 6-9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete registration policies. Please read complete summer camp information and policies before completing your registration.
