Title:
Portfolio Prep: Drawing for High School Students (Section 2)
Instructor:
Price:
$300.00

The portfolio is the single most important component of an art school application, and colleges across the nation are stepping up their requirements for admission. Most require several observational drawings, or drawings made from what can be seen, rather than from the imagination or a photograph. This studio drawing class is designed to help motivated visual arts students develop exemplary observational drawings for their portfolios. Students will work with still life, landscape, interior, and figurative subject matter as they explore the fundamentals of a good drawing: composition; structure; value; line; and expression. Studio instruction will be supplemented by art history discussions, visiting artist and MCAD Admissions staff presentations, and regular homework assignments. / Students should anticipate an additional cost of roughly $75-100 in total for materials (not included in tuition). / Professional nude models will be used in this class. / Both sections 01 and 02 are the same; choose the section that best fits your schedule. / Open to students ages 15–18. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete registration policies
