Mystery Boxes (Mixed Media Art)
Instructor:
Price:
$300.00

Come take a peek into a mysterious world! In this class students will create surprising worlds, using drawing, painting, and sculptural techniques. Students will learn about the elements of stage design to cut and construct miniature worlds that viewers will peek into, revealing each creator’s imaginative design. Time will be spent learning about landscapes, cityscapes, and other ‘scapes and will piggyback upon the works by artists such as Layla Holzer, Joseph Cornell, and Cally Trench. The class will take a trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to see where artists go to get inspiration, and view worlds created by artists represented in the museum. The week will end with a fun exhibition for families and friends where they can peer into, and celebrate these new and amazing worlds. / Open to students ages 9-12.
